Sources raw material and packaging.
Analyzes industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit emerging opportunities
Evaluates supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
Reviews and approves a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry to understand trends and competitive positioning in order to ensure system activation of the best possible supply base.
Develops a negotiation strategy that delivers against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers.
Drives improvement in vendor scorecards and achieves significant cost savings through developing vendor partnerships and strategic sourcing channels.
Develops strategic relationships throughout the world, specifically in Mexico and China.
Implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
Provides product and service expertise to geographic associates to build network participation and expertise.
Evaluates professional growth needs of and mentor Purchasing Department staff.
Education Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Business or related Supply Chain program.
APICS certified master production scheduler.
Experience:
o 10 plus years of Strategic SourcingProcurement experience with a progressive manufacturer.
Professional Requirements:
Two Professional Certifications:
Six Sigma (ASQ): Yellow Belt o Green Belt o Black BeltProject Management
(PMI): Certified Project Management Professional (CAPM) o Project Management Professional (PMP)
Lean (SME): Bronze o Silver o Gold
Specific Competencies:
Ability to facilitate and accelerate the business relationship based upon an understanding of the customer. Includes the ability to actively listen and engage in conversation with customers to uncover relevant information, resources and solutions.
Ability to make projections into the future (volume, financial statements, economic data, consumer preference, headcount, etc.) and use these projections to help plan future operations
Effectively supports electrical assembly operations
Tactical focus (what needs to be done now to achieve the strategic goal)
Strategic focus (what's good for business in the long run)
Successfully applies principles of financial analysis and capital project justification (e.g., life cost analysis, internal rate of return, net present value, economic profit, economic value added).
